My initial glimpse of photography was in Mr. Novins' sixth-grade class, with pinhole cameras made of various boxes and oatmeal containers. What impressed me, even back then, was that light, with the aid of various chemicals, could etch itself into something lasting. For many years, photography was principally a hobby that I pursued while completing my degree in art history and eking out a living with jobs at an art gallery and a demolition firm.

In 2002, my hobby broke out from its interstitial existence and cemented itself as my life’s great pursuit. My interest in documenting architecture and art installations became something of a refined compulsion. My early endeavors quickly led to a steady stream of work with artists, architects, interior designers and others; helping them communicate their visions via photography.

The creative act of visual translation is intriguing, daunting and rewarding. I love the mindful, creative process of every aspect of photography - from scouting a site, engaging a subject, composing and framing a shot, patiently waiting for, and creating, the right light, to all the post-production stages, whether (in my darkroom days) developing and printing, or (in our high-resolution digital age) refining captures, coaxing colors and aspect ratios and delivering it all to my clients. I also shoot portraits and landscapes
